Sophia is the managing partner of Arshad, Pangere & Warring, LLP. Licensed to practice in state and federal courts, she was admitted to the Indiana State Bar in 2003, the Illinois State Bar in 2004, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana in 2003. She primarily practices immigration law, family law, real estate law, and estate planning.
Computer literate and multilingual, Sophia is often able to communicate effectively with foreign language-speaking clients without employing the services of a translator. Punjabi- and Spanish-speaking clients appreciate that they can deal directly with a lawyer to file complex legal documents.
Within the legal profession, Sophia stays ahead of the curve. She often attends continuing education seminars on cutting-edge topics in the law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Indiana Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the American Inns of Court. She shared her knowledge of the law as an undergraduate adjunct professor at Davenport University teaching labor and employment law, and immigration law.
Sophia demonstrates a desire to achieve professional excellence. As an undergraduate, she attended the University of Chicago, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a premedical concentration in 1996. On the basis of her undergraduate academic achievement, she graduated with honors and was inducted into the Psi Chi Honor Society in Psychology. As a graduate student, Sophia attended Valparaiso University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate and graduated cum laude in 2003. Her record of achievement continued: she earned a joint Master of Arts degree in Psychological Foundations; she was part of the Honors Program; she held the position of editor for the Valparaiso University Law Review; she concentrated her studies on elder care and healthcare issues; she was a civil law clinic intern in 2003; she pursued the Methodist Hospital's externship; and she was a Dean’s Scholarship and ISBA Scholarship recipient.
